Blessing a home is more preventative than reactionary.  With a house blessing, I go through the home and smudge the home thoroughly.  I locate any portals that might lure unwanted energies into a home, and I normally set up an energy grid.  During a home blessing, if any energies are discovered, they are removed.  The blessing is a combination of energy work and establishment, and closing any possible ways in for anything unwanted to find its way to your living area.  The energy work and establishment are done in such a way that negative energies will not feel comfortable there and will leave when they get too close.  During the home blessing, I teach the homeowner how to maintain what I have created for them, thus empowering them and leaving them in charge of their home.
