This workshop was suggested, by my students, during the last Shamanic Techniques Workshop. Everyone had a wonderful time creating such a personal and powerful tool. There are three tools that I help people construct during this workshop; Wands, Prayer Sticks, and turtle shell rattles.

I have made all of these items and have the tools and know how to show you how to make your own tool, investing your energy. I assist with the ceremony that charges your tool when they are completed, as well.

 

As for the materials, while I do have the wood necessary to make these items, I often find that people had rather acquire their own materials, ie. wood and stones.

Wands - These items require 4 days to make and charge. As mentioned earlier, I make suggestions and show you examples in an effort to give you a few ideas as to what is possible. I have seen metal wands in the past, but with the proper symbols, stones, and design, there is no way that a metal wand will be stronger than a wooden wand. Wands are very effective tools when you are focusing and increasing energy is a specific direction. They do not do the work for you, but they do make what you send out much more focused and precise.

Prayer Sticks - I love my Prayer Stick! Anyone who needs a Prayer Stick already knows what they are for, so I will spare the description here. A Prayer Stick can be made in one day. I supply the tools and supplies. The only thing you will need is if you have special feathers that you would like to use, bring them. I have duck and turkey feathers, but I used special feathers on my Prayer Sticks and understand if you would like to do the same with yours. This workshop includes me showing you how to use a PRayer Stick properly.

Turtle Shell Rattles - I made myself one of these rattles and I thoroughly enjoy using it. During this one day workshop I show you how to craft and decorate your rattle so that it is yours. It has your energy and is just what you want. I supply all of the supplies and tools. I get the turtle shells from a distributor who does not harm the turtles in any way when collecting the shells. Turtles molt their shells as they grow and my shells are only gathered after they are molted.
